Import/Export Meter Q ?
by BigSkeff at 2007-02-01 22:24:28 (Forum::Public::ProvenEnergy)
Hello to you all,

I have been reading with interest your various paths to installing Proven Turbines, whilst occupying my time (since last June) in applying for 4 grants and the planning for a Proven 6 on a 15m tower.

The turbine is destined to be installed in the rear car park of our Village Hall and will be Grid Connected.

The foundations are in and a 'Windyboy 6' on the wall with all the other bits to connect it to the Grid. The turbine is planned to arrive mid Feb.

I'm in the process of applying to OFGEM for accreditation and at the same time am having a few difficulties in getting an Import/Export meter fitted ( My power supplier doesn't seem capable ) I have bought a I/E meter for 46 all up and am now in search of a company to fit it. As I understand it they will then be the Meter Operator, I will be the Meter Owner and my power supplier's meter reader will read it. How am I doing so far ? Do any of you know where I can find a meter fitter/operator ?

By the By, the figures I hear you mention for total production are a bit depressing, but then again pessimists have more fun than optimists. They, at least, can be either pleasantly surprised or right. I was hoping for in excess of 8,000 Kwh/annum from a average wind speed of 5.7, fingers crossed and hope that installing the base in the gale of 18 Jan 07 was a good omen !

James
