It also leaves very very little ash and burns completely. So very rarely do we have red embers in the fire in the morning as we almost always did with home split and dried logs.
The timber cost £25 a cubic meter and is self collect. I have gone and got about 4 half-loads, and bar the dangers of climbing up a pile of wood the size of a house would say it is hassle free. As it is all cut it is easy to pack in the car and store at home.
I will be interested to hear what the Chimney Sweep says as to teh tar in the chimney. My guess is it is very clean.
My only regret is that the Timber merchant wont give the stuff away as the pile appears to be getting bigger and bigger with them clearly having no use for it.
