And discovered that the rope that applies the brake had wrapped its self round the electrical cable. I did my best to un wrap as much as I could and guess I will have to do some more work latter on with a mirror and torch to see what is going on further up inside the tower.

I guess it winds up because the turbine head has torque and as it slows will always turn in the same direction, thus over time wrapping the rope. You could imagine this causing some serious problems.

I wonder if there is a way to solve this? Have others experienced the same problem?
