Tidal energy from the Pentland Firth
by muymalestado at 2008-09-29 09:46:34 (Forum::Public::General)
Scottish Power has plans for producing electricity from the tidal flows in the north of Scotland.
Today's broadcast confirms Scottish Power plans: Pentland Firth turbines.

They plan a 60MW development (so-called 40,000 homes). A start! Hopefully by 2011.

There have been 'reliable' reports that these waters could produce anywhere from 30% of Scotland's power all the way up to 100% of Britain's power. Whatever, good to see something happening. -- muymalestado
