We installed a 2.5kW battery charging Proven last year. Our client and we have now concluded that the performance is poor.
With the dump loads disconnected and a good wind the machine is producing no more than 800W.
Any idea what might be the problem? I do not think the cable drop is too high.

"a good wind" isn't really sufficient - you need to measure the wind speed.
Are the springs OK?
Have the blade hinges been put on the right way round?
What charger/inverter setup do you have? Are you using the SMA Islanding kit?
How are you measuring 800W?
How long and what size (csa) is that cable?

There is a thread on the Green Buildings Forum entitled ''Proven wind turbine- dissapointing control method.'' A 2.5 Proven was not performing well. The problem came down to the blades, which were changed for newer, more aerodynamic ones. It may not be the problem with this one, but is worth a look.
