Mine is costing £20k with an 8k grant so cost to me is £12,000,
I just looked at the average windspeed in the area and from this I reckon I can get about 8000 - 10000kw per year hopefully, I put up a windspeed monitor a couple of months ago and really would have wanted to leave it up for a year but my grant was running out at the end of July so I had to just get on with the install.
My site is just outside Lurgan |

| is it a 6kw proven ?.is it for Geothermal heating system ?...I am just in the 'thinking about it stages'...who is the installer ? or is there a few installers in N.Ireland ?..where did you go to see about the grant ? did you need planning for it ? Ta | |

The grant scheme ended in March, not sure if there is a replacement or not, It is indeed a 6kw proven and I will alos be installing a Ground source heat pump, If you want to give me your e-mail address I can provide you with the installer information.
I had to get planning permission for it since it is on a 15m tower,
If you want to come and take a look at it give me a shout |

Be careful with the combination of grid-tied wind turbine and ground source heat pump.
The initial load taken by the compressor of a GSHP can cause sufficient fluctuation in the grid voltage for the inverter to see it as a disconnection, which can cause the inverter to reset itself. If this happens when the turbine is generating then you will loose the output. Be sure you have over-voltage protection on the DC input to the inverter to allow for this. You can get soft-start devices for the GSHP that will help with the problem too. ted |
