Peter,
if you have the wind (sounds as though you do) then the Proven will output 6kW. Mine does when the wind is blowing enough.
Problems referred to are possibly to do with mis-adjusted furling springs which would allow the blades to fold back at too low a speed or maybe binding brakes.
Ask to visit someone near you with one and see for yourself. Most owners are only too happy to oblige.
