Wind turbine planning decisions - Ecotricity's view
by Simon at 2007-02-16 10:23:12 (Ask an Expert)
Hi Nigel,

I've promoted this thread to the home page of the website, and added an "editor's note" in your opening message soliciting comments from people who might be able to point out useful resources for any appeal.

I think this forum is the best place for the thread to remain, at least for the time being.

When you publish the comments from the Members, if you do so by adding them as comments to this thread rather than starting a new one it will keep everything in one place.

Remember you can amend the subject line of any reply you make to reflect the content of that particular reply - that can make things easier to locate if the thread gets long.

eg: for your forthcoming reply in this thread about comments from the Members, I'd suggest a subject line for it along the lines of:

"Evidence of lack of knowledge amongst the NYM Committee members"

I don't have direct experience of the planning process for wind turbines, but one document I've found outlines Ecotricity's views on the planning process and the defacto "refuse and assume there will be an appeal" behaviour. It's about larger scale wind farms, but I believe the views expressed are applicable to your situation. Here's a link:

Best of luck with the knee operation.
