Changing the settings on your inverter to maximise output!
by Stuart at 2006-11-24 15:07:29 (Forum::Public::Wind)
Has anyone tried this?
It seems to me from reading the documentation that comes with the SMA Windy Boy 6000 and the Sunny Beam Wireless controller that one should be able to tweak the inverter settings to get the most KWHs from you inverter and Turbine.

You obviously want a very short T start figure and a long stop figure to get the most from small gusts.

But what about accounting for turbulence by adjusting some of the other figures. I read some where that in turbulent conditions you want to bring down the voltage rate to make sure that as much as possible of the energy is turned into energy by increasing the torque. Whereas on a free air site you might go for sustained higher output by letting the rotation speeds get higher.

I am a novice at this and may be spouting nonsense. Has anyone tried any of this?
