My Proven6 (on a 15m mast) is in an area designated as 4.9m/s at 10m on the windspeed database. I suspect it is actually higher than this as we are at the top of rising ground (from the prevailing wind direction) that then falls away to flat fenland as far as the eye can see.
In the first year of operation it produced 8,000 KWh. This year looks set to be a little lower although last week was the best ever with 460 KWh produced. I love the way this turbine continues to produce full output in storm-force winds although the Proven mast does bend and oscillate alarmingly at times.
You'll be able to work out the benefit of getting paid 23.5p/KWh for 20 years compared with mine, which is currently 12p but due to fall to 9p next April.
