That's indeed the thinking - but with the small transitional loophole that if you can a grant on a new system between now and next April then you will get to keep the grant AND get the higher FIT tariff. (Except for non-domestic users with > 50kW systems who have to return any centrally funded grant if they opt for FITs.)
