I agree completely with you Brian. I for one am very sceptical of the very cheap Chinese systems having heard numerous horror stories. However I guess I'd be wrong to tar every system with the same brush.
The Dutch manufactured Fortis Montana I have here on the farm has been developed for 20 years and with over 6000 units in operation It's very well tried and tested. An expected life of 20+ years, maintenance free design and near silent operation make it an easy system to live with too.
Although not cheap the Montana does offer good value when you consider it's quality and although It's furling system does pull it out of the stronger gusts (which Is a little annoying) It's better to be safe than sorry in the long term.
